Poppy

designed by Linda Wiese

Linda, the artist behind the designs that many of you have enjoyed has been busy at her computer lately. Here is her newest design to share.

Pictured at left is a gorgeous red poppy. Due to the size of the file, the design splits into two files when it is sent to the machine. The second file just finishes the last color of the first file. It's important to stabilize well since the design is large and many stitches. The stitching order is under "Remarks" and is as follows:

First File:

  1. Green for leaves, stems and buds
  2. Red for poppy petals
  3. Dk. red for shading
  4. Lt. green for poppy center
  5. Black for poppy center and seeds
  6. Red for lower front petal
  7. Dk. Red for shading on front petal

Second file:

  1. Dk. red for balance of shading on front petal

Linda would like to apologize for the number of large jump stitches around the seeds. Normally, every effort is made try to keep jump stitches to a minimum but in this case, she was trying to make cutting them as easy as possible since the seeds are so close together.

The design(s) is provided in a single zip file. When you click on "download" you will get a prompt to either "open" or "save to disk." We recommend the "save to disk" selection. Be sure to note the file you save it to so you can find it later. You will need an "unzip" utility to open them. As these designs are in Pfaff "PCD" format, if you are not using Pfaff PCDesigner software, you wil also need to convert the file to the appropriate machine format to use.
