Embroidery
"Unstitching" Tools

Here's what Cindy recommends for pulling the "boo-boo" embroidery stitches out of a project (photos of the thread removal process is below):

Havel's Seam Ripper

This is the webczarina's favorite seam ripper - as well as being a "top pick" from Cindy. The surgical steel blade allows you to zip through even the toughest thread - from regular sewing machine stitches to multi-thread serger stitches. At this price, when the blade gets dull, buy a new one!

$3.50

Clover's
Tweezers

This pair of tweezers is kinda scary to look at, but when it comes to picking out a bunch of cut threads at once, it's the BEST! The "business end" is approximately 3/8" long.

$3.50

How to "Unstitch" that Embroidery Design:

First, score the stitches you want to remove from the back side, using the seam ripper.

Be sure to score at a right angle to the stitches.

Then, turn your stitched design over to the right side, and using the large Clover tweezers, start pulling out the stitches.

Return to the reverse side and re-score the stitches more as needed, if they are not all coming up easily.
