Bargello Quilt

made by
Anne Beecher

This quilt was made by Anne for her mother as a Christmas gift in 1995.

At the time, Anne had been teaching several classes in bargello quilt making, and her mother had admired the design.

She laughs about presenting it, because she and her mom share living quarters - and she knew she'd never be able to have it made before Christmas without her mom discovering it, and asking questions. So she presented her mom with a big gaily wrapped box o' fabric on Christmas Day. At her mother's rather puzzled expression, she told her that the box of fabric would be transformed into a quilt.

Great transformation, huh?
